HELPFUL HINTS:
- Do not put any text within 20%
of any edge. We cannot guarantee
that the outer 20% of the image
will be shown in every
auditorium, as each auditorium
is slightly different and may
crop the image slightly. - Make sure color and brightness
are within NTSC specifications
(these will be run on NTSC
projectors).
- This can be achieved be using
either Adobe’s “Broadcast
Colors”, Magic Bullet Suite’s
“Broadcast Spec” or similar
products.
(What looks good on your
computer monitor or TV will not
necessarily look good when
projected onto a 40 foot theater
screen.
If you are not completely
familiar with NTSC standards and
how they relate to video
projection on a large scale, you
should at
minimum refrain from designing
an ad with low contrast, such as
baby blue text over a white
background to ensure it is
readable. - Triple check to ensure there
are no typographical errors in
your ad before submitting it. We
cannot fix a client-created ad
as we do not have the original
elements.
- If you are not familiar with
the specs on this page, please
consider having our SMG preshow
content designer,
create the ad for you to
guarantee it’s legibility and
effectiveness.
Image Files – Client elements
should arrive no later than the
5th of the month prior to start
date. A proof will be returned
by the 10th and a final ad must be
completed by the 15th. Client is
responsible for adhering to
production schedule.
Image files should have the
following specs: 1. Images should be full quality
when possible (150-300 dpi) 2. Bright, sharp, clear images
and text 3. Bmp, jpg, gif, pdf, psd, ai,
eps, tiff, png and PPT files are
acceptable 4. If the text and image are to
be animated the artwork must be
layered or come as separate
files. Example: You find an image on the
internet, it has cool text on it
and you would like the text to
move around in front of the
image. That will not happen. If the
file is a jpg or gif it almost
definitely does not have layers. 5. Images smaller than 100x100
will probably not be seen on the
big screen unless they are part
of a small logo and images that small are not good to use
full screen or even half screen 6. Larger images are better.
Shrinking an image on our end is better
than increasing its size which
will make it look fuzzy. 7. A million people may see this
ad. Check spelling and content
carefully before signing off on
your ad.
