SMG Grants a Star Wars Wish

Everett, a 17-year-old with Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy, received celebrity treatment thanks to Make-A-Wish and the team at SMG Plano. In addition to a private, exclusive viewing of Star Wars: The Last Jedi, the McKinney, Texas native was welcomed to the screening with a red carpet celebration. Storm Troopers, Darth Vader, and a slew of friends and relatives lined the carpet, cheering as Everett made his way into the theater. Looking sharp in a suit generously donated by Brooks Brothers, he took pictures with movie goers and answered questions from local media. Everett's star treatment was topped off with gifts from a local Lucasfilm artist and Studio Movie Grill.

About Make-A-Wish: Make-A-Wish grants the wishes of children with life-threatening medical conditions to enrich the human experience with hope, strength and joy. According to a 2011 U.S. study of wish impact, most health professionals surveyed believe a wish-come-true has positive impacts on the health of children. Kids say wishes give them renewed strength to fight their illness, and their parents say these experiences help strengthen the entire family. With the help of generous donors and more than 33,000 volunteers, it has granted more than 285,000 wishes since its inception in 1980.
