POWERFUL PACK, POWERFUL IMPACT

As part of our continued mission to be a platform to Open Hearts and Minds, we invited the storytellers in our communities to help us shine a light on the people and organizations that make a positive impact on their communities every day. From the submissions, we chose four of the most inspiring stories as the winners of our One Story Movement® contest — this is filmmaker Shawn Cross's story.

OPENING HEARTS AND MINDS, ONE STORY AT A TIME®

A roller derby skater describes the positive impact that the Ventura County Derby Darlins (VCDD) has had on her, her teammates, and the rest of the community. VCDD is a non-profit women's roller derby league based out of Camarillo, California. VCDD provides positivity in all that they do for their skaters, community, and everyone involved in the sport. The organization has, and hopes to continue to change the lives of many.
