As part of our continued mission to be a platform to Open Hearts and Minds, we invited the storytellers in our communities to help us shine a light on the people and organizations that make a positive impact on their communities every day. From the submissions, we chose four of the most inspiring stories as the winners of our One Story Movement® contest — this is Western DuPage Special Recreation Association's story.
OPENING HEARTS AND MINDS, ONE STORY AT A TIME®
Meet Greg Bizzaro — a business owner, volunteer, mentor, and friend to many people with disabilities. Over 27 years ago, Greg was instrumental in co-creating a program called Video Ventures for adults with intellectual and physical disabilities in Carol Stream, Illinois. This program gives adults with disabilities an opportunity to learn interview skills, video production skills, and to be confident in front of and behind a camera. Greg owns his own film/video company, Jaffe Inc., and volunteers his time to give them this opportunity.
